Warnings against Wordliness
e-Sword
Jas 4:1 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?
Jas 4:2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.
Jas 4:3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
Jas 4:4 You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
Jas 4:5 Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us?
Jas 4:6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Jas 4:8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Jas 4:9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.
Jas 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
Jas 4:11 Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it.
Jas 4:12 There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?

Broken Fellowship
(Being Still With God Every Day)
Breaking God’s law—sin—has been defined as missing the mark, falling short of His standards, and transgressing His covenant. However you define sin and whether you sin in thought, word, or deed, it is a rejection of God’s love and an insult to His holiness.
Sin leads to separation from God. It’s no surprise, then, that He doesn’t ignore sin or let it continue unchecked.
Oh, God will not forsake us, but by our own willful rebellion we can choose to sever fellowship with Him. The loss is ours, and it is enormous.
In Ezekiel’s day God’s people had forsaken Him, so His glory departed from the temple. He would not remain where He was not wanted. It was a devastating time for the people of God.
Never take God’s presence—in your life, in the church, or in our nation—for granted.
He will not allow Himself to be dishonored. He will not be neglected. If you don’t treat God with all due respect, you may awaken one day to the startling reality that the glory of God has departed.

Marks of the True Christian
Rom 12:9 Love must be honest and true. Hate what is evil. Hold on to what is good.
Rom 12:10 Love each other deeply. Honor others more than yourselves.
Rom 12:11 Never let the fire in your heart go out. Keep it alive. Serve the Lord.
Rom 12:12 When you hope, be joyful. When you suffer, be patient. When you pray, be faithful.
Rom 12:13 Share with God’s people who are in need. Welcome others into your homes.
Rom 12:14 Bless those who hurt you. Bless them, and do not call down curses on them.
Rom 12:15 Be joyful with those who are joyful. Be sad with those who are sad.
Rom 12:16 Agree with each other. Don’t be proud. Be willing to be a friend of people who aren’t considered important. Don’t think that you are better than others.
Rom 12:17 Don’t pay back evil with evil. Be careful to do what everyone thinks is right.
Rom 12:18 If possible, live in peace with everyone. Do that as much as you can.
Rom 12:19 My friends, don’t try to get even. Leave room for God to show his anger. It is written, “I am the One who judges people. I will pay them back,” (Deuteronomy 32:35) says the Lord.
Rom 12:20 Do just the opposite. Scripture says, “If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. By doing those things, you will pile up burning coals on their heads.” (Proverbs 25:21,22)
Rom 12:21 Don’t let evil overcome you. Overcome evil by doing goodKennzeichen des wahren Christen
The Righteousness of God Through Faith
Rom 3:21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.
Rom 3:22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,
Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Rom 3:24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus

Search Me, O God, and Know My Heart
Psa 139:1 For the director of music. A psalm of David. LORD, you have seen what is in my heart. You know all about me.
Psa 139:2 You know when I sit down and when I get up. You know what I’m thinking even though you are far away.
Psa 139:3 You know when I go out to work and when I come back home. You know exactly how I live.
Psa 139:4 LORD, even before I speak a word, you know all about it.
Psa 139:5 You are all around me. You are behind me and in front of me. You hold me in your power.
Psa 139:6 I’m amazed at how well you know me. It’s more than I can understand.
Psa 139:7 How can I get away from your Spirit? Where can I go to escape from you?
Psa 139:8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there. If I lie down in the deepest parts of the earth, you are also there.
Psa 139:9 Suppose I were to rise with the sun in the east and then cross over to the west where it sinks into the ocean.
Psa 139:10 Your hand would always be there to guide me. Your right hand would still be holding me close.
Psa 139:11 Suppose I were to say, “I’m sure the darkness will hide me. The light around me will become as dark as night.”
Psa 139:12 Even that darkness would not be dark to you. The night would shine like the day, because darkness is like light to you.
Psa 139:13 You created the deepest parts of my being. You put me together inside my mother’s body.
Psa 139:14 How you made me is amazing and wonderful. I praise you for that. What you have done is wonderful. I know that very well.
Psa 139:15 None of my bones was hidden from you when you made me inside my mother’s body. That place was as dark as the deepest parts of the earth. When you were putting me together there,
Psa 139:16 your eyes saw my body even before it was formed. You planned how many days I would live. You wrote down the number of them in your book before I had lived through even one of them.
Psa 139:17 God, your thoughts about me are priceless. No one can possibly add them all up.
Psa 139:18 If I could count them, they would be more than the grains of sand. If I were to fall asleep counting and then wake up, you would still be there with me.
Psa 139:19 God, I wish you would kill the people who are evil! I wish those murderers would get away from me!
Psa 139:20 They are your enemies. They misuse your name. They misuse it for their own evil purposes.
Psa 139:21 LORD, I really hate those who hate you! I really hate those who rise up against you!
Psa 139:22 I have nothing but hatred for them. I consider them to be my enemies.
Psa 139:23 God, see what is in my heart. Know what is there. Put me to the test. Know what I’m thinking.
Psa 139:24 See if there’s anything in my life you don’t like. Help me live in the way that is always right.

THE GOOD NEWS
Jhn 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jhn 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
