  • Warnings against Wordliness

    e-Sword

Jas 4:1  What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?

Jas 4:2  You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.

Jas 4:3  When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

Jas 4:4  You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

Jas 4:5  Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us?

Jas 4:6  But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”

Jas 4:7  Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Jas 4:8  Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Jas 4:9  Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.

Jas 4:10  Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Jas 4:11  Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it.

Jas 4:12  There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?

  • Broken Fellowship

(Being Still With God Every Day)

Breaking God’s law—sin—has been defined as missing the mark, falling short of His standards, and transgressing His covenant.

However you define sin and whether you sin in thought, word, or deed, it is a rejection of God’s love and an insult to His holiness.

Sin leads to separation from God. It’s no surprise, then, that He doesn’t ignore sin or let it continue unchecked.

Oh, God will not forsake us, but by our own willful rebellion we can choose to sever fellowship with Him. The loss is ours, and it is enormous.

In Ezekiel’s day God’s people had forsaken Him, so His glory departed from the temple.

He would not remain where He was not wanted. It was a devastating time for the people of God.

Never take God’s presence—in your life, in the church, or in our nation—for granted.
He will not allow Himself to be dishonored. He will not be neglected.

If you don’t treat God with all due respect, you may awaken one day to the startling reality that the glory of God has departed.

  • I believe

    e-Sword Jhn 14:12

“What I’m about to tell you is true. Anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing.

In fact, he will do even greater things. That is because I am going to the Father

  • Marks of the True Christian

Rom 12:9 Love must be honest and true. Hate what is evil. Hold on to what is good.

Rom 12:10 Love each other deeply. Honor others more than yourselves.

Rom 12:11 Never let the fire in your heart go out. Keep it alive. Serve the Lord.

Rom 12:12 When you hope, be joyful. When you suffer, be patient. When you pray, be faithful.

Rom 12:13 Share with God’s people who are in need. Welcome others into your homes.

Rom 12:14 Bless those who hurt you. Bless them, and do not call down curses on them.

Rom 12:15 Be joyful with those who are joyful. Be sad with those who are sad.

Rom 12:16 Agree with each other. Don’t be proud. Be willing to be a friend of people who aren’t considered important. Don’t think that you are better than others.

Rom 12:17 Don’t pay back evil with evil. Be careful to do what everyone thinks is right.

Rom 12:18 If possible, live in peace with everyone. Do that as much as you can.

Rom 12:19 My friends, don’t try to get even. Leave room for God to show his anger. It is written, “I am the One who judges people. I will pay them back,” (Deuteronomy 32:35) says the Lord.

Rom 12:20 Do just the opposite. Scripture says, “If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. By doing those things, you will pile up burning coals on their heads.” (Proverbs 25:21,22)

Rom 12:21 Don’t let evil overcome you. Overcome evil by doing good

  • The Righteousness of God Through Faith

Rom 3:21  But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.

Rom 3:22  This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,

Rom 3:23  for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Rom 3:24  and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus

  • Wisdom Bestows Well-Being

My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.

My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke, because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.

Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.
She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.
Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed.

By wisdom the LORD laid the earth’s foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place; by his knowledge the watery depths were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew.

My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck.

Then you will go on your way in safety,
and your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the LORD will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.

Do not say to your neighbor, “Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you”when you already have it with you.

Do not plot harm against your neighbor,
    who lives trustfully near you.

Do not accuse anyone for no reason—
whenWisdom Bestows Well-Being they have done you no harm.

Do not envy the violent or choose any of their ways. For the LORD detests the perverse but takes the upright into his confidence.

The LORD’s curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous. He mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and oppressed.

The wise inherit honor, but fools get only shame

    Proverbs 3

  • DEVISION

I would like to share this in three languages:

    Luke 11:17

ENGLISH: “Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: “Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall.”
    ‭‭

GERMAN: “Jesus kannte ihre Gedanken und sagte zu ihnen: “Ein Reich, das mit sich selbst uneins ist, wird zugrunde gehen, und ein Haus, das mit sich selbst uneins ist, wird fallen.”

AFRIKAANS: “Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: “Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall.”

  • Back to Jesus

These are the words of a song written by Thys Meades from South Africa. He wrote?

Where I belong is at your feet praising you

Where I belong is at your feet touching you

    Lord, I need only you

Pour out your love on me again

Bring me back to the place where I love the cross

Bring me back to the place where I’m on my knees

Bring me back to an undivided heart

Jesus, bring me back to you.

THIS IS WHAT WE NEED TODAY. COMING BACK TO JESUS.

John Wimber said it many years ago. I believe Jesus still says the same words today: “I want my church back!”

  • Following Jesus

    Following Jesus is about:

Living as he lived and still lives

Doing the things he did and still does

Forgive like he forgave and still forgives

Love as he loved and still loves

Proclaim the kingdom of God (kingdom of Heaven)

    Heal the sick

    Raise the dead

    Set the captive free.

He has done it – let’s follow Him.
